Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Chatonaut is free while it is in early access, and we take no payments at all. That makes this a short policy: there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund today. This page explains what that means for you, and what we will do before any of it changes.

1. There is nothing to pay

Chatonaut is in early access and free of charge. There is no subscription, no billing cycle and no automatic renewal. We do not ask you for a card or any other payment method, we do not store payment details, and we do not charge you anything.

2. There is nothing to cancel

Because there is no subscription, there is nothing to cancel. You can stop using Chatonaut whenever you like: there is no notice period and no final invoice. If you also want your account and its data removed, email us from the address on your account — there is no delete button in the app yet, so we do it by hand. The Data Deletion page explains what we remove and how long it takes.

3. There is nothing to refund

We have never taken money from you, so there is no payment we could give back. If you ever see a charge on a card or bank statement that appears to be from Chatonaut, it did not come from us. Please tell us at support@chatonaut.com and contact your bank or payment provider, so that it can be investigated as fraud.

4. What the prices on our Pricing page mean

The prices on our Pricing page are indicative. They show what we expect plans to cost later. They are not a bill and not a commitment by you, nothing on that page is being charged today, and the figures may change before we start charging.

5. If we start charging

If we introduce paid plans, we will publish a real billing and refund policy on this page and tell you by email before it applies to you. It will say what the billing period is, how to cancel, when you can get your money back, and who takes the payment. We have not chosen a payment provider, so we are not going to name one, or promise you now whose name would appear on your statement.

You will then choose whether to move to a paid plan. We will never take a payment from you without your explicit agreement, and moving to a paid plan will never happen automatically.

Nothing on this page limits the rights you have under consumer law where those rights apply to you.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this page as Chatonaut develops, and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Where a change matters to you, we will give you reasonable notice by email or in the product before it takes effect. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service, which describe the rest of the agreement between us.
