Age Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Chatonaut is a tool for businesses. You have to be an adult to hold an account, and we are not built for children. This page explains where the age lines fall — for you, and for the people your bots talk to.

1. Who can hold an account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. You confirm this when you accept our Terms of Service.
  • If you sign up on behalf of a company, you also confirm that you may bind it.
  • We do not offer accounts to minors, and there is no supervised or parental version of Chatonaut.

2. If we learn a minor holds an account

We close it. We do not wait for a complaint, and we do not need to warn the account holder first. Chatonaut is free while it is in early access, so there is no payment to unwind — see our Refund & Cancellation page.

3. If you are a parent or guardian

Email support@chatonaut.com with Underage account in the subject line. Tell us the email address on the account and your relationship to the child. We may ask for something that shows you are the parent or guardian — we ask for the least we can and we do not keep it afterwards.

We switch the account off as soon as we have checked the request, and the data goes within 30 days, exactly as described on our Data Deletion page.

4. The people your bots talk to

Your customers are your responsibility, not ours: you decide who your bot writes to and what it asks them for. If any of them may be under 18:

  • Get whatever consent the law in your country requires before you collect anything from them.
  • Ask for the least you need. A birthday you never use is data you should not be holding.
  • Do not advertise to children where your law forbids it, and do not use age to target people who cannot judge the offer.

On our side, we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16, which is the line drawn in our Privacy Policy. If you believe a child's data has reached us through a bot, write to us and we will delete it.

5. Content involving children

Child sexual abuse material, grooming and sexualised content about minors are banned outright. There is no warning and no second chance: we remove the content, close the account, and report the case to the authorities where the law requires it. Report anything of this kind through our Report Abuse page and we will act the same day.
